Transformed by God’s Word
God has revealed Himself through His Word and that story is not just something we know, it is something that transforms us. As we read, study and meditate on Scripture, our lives become more and more centered on Jesus. We see this happening in two ways:
Scripture: Becoming Biblically Shaped
The Bible informs how we see and engage God, the world, and ourselves.
It requires faithful Bible reading (historically, contextually, culturally, theologically, spiritually, applicationally); Scripture memorization; Lectio devina; Bible journaling, etc.
Theology: Understanding God Deeply
A deeper pursuit of a right understanding of God and how He engages with humanity.
Systematic theology (understanding how the pieces of God’s story fit together); historical development of theology in the Church; doctrinal studies; denominational distinctive.
